Lent starts Wednesday, March 2nd
Lent is the 40-day season prior to Easter (minus the Sundays) in consideration of the days Jesus spent in the wilderness. It is a time of remembrance to reflect on what Jesus has done for all through His sacrifice on the cross and resurrection from the dead. This time of reflection helps us to grow in our understanding of the love of Christ and deepens our relationship with God. These 40 days will serve to prepare us for a more meaningful celebration of remembrance on Good Friday and Easter.
What should we do during these 40 days of anticipation? Over the centuries, according to Christian tradition, three actions stand out as staples of Lent – prayer, fasting, and alms-giving. Each of these offers the opportunity for personal reflection that serves to edify our relationship with the Lord.
Below are some featured tools to aid individuals and families during this season of remembrance and reflection.
Scripture and Art - Small Group Series
Scripture & Art, an eight-session small group series, is inspired by various pieces of art that depict events in the life of Jesus Christ, specifically around and during Holy Week. The material includes a participant guide, short videos highlighting the artwork for each session, and an additional document for the facilitator that includes the transcriptions of the video commentary and the paintings.

From Cross to Crown - Holy Week Worship Experience
This Holy Week worship experience uses music and Scripture to bring focus to Christ’s journey from Palm Sunday to Easter. Opportunities for at-home singing are included, along with other musical pieces for reflection and contemplation.
While it can be experienced any time during Lent, it is recommended to be viewed especially during Holy Week, either individually, within family circles, and/or with congregation members through digital platforms such as Zoom.
